Market Day Wednesday, April 15

April 15, 2015 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm

100% Grass-fed Beef is here!

We’ve been sold out for a long time but our 100% grass-fed beef is back and ready for you to enjoy. Steaks, roasts, ground beef, bones, organ meats – we’ve got it all. Beautiful healthy meat for you and your family.

All our cows have had only mother’s milk and pasture grasses and nothing else. No grain, no hormones, no steroids, no antibiotics…are ever given to our cattle. No fertilizers, no pesticides, no herbicides…are ever used on our lush pasture grasses. This means that every time you experience the tender and tasty meat, you know exactly what you’re eating — 100% grass-fed beef.

Want to know how to prepare your grass-fed beef once you’ve purchased it? Check out our Grass-fed beef cooking tips and tricks.

Red Wattle Pork – by the whole, half, or quarter

Our heritage breed pigs are special and get fat and healthy from foraging on our organic pasture grasses along with our proprietary blend of certified organic feed that is soy-free with no GMO’s. This is tasty pork of the highest quality and is free of antibiotics, fungicides, herbicides, pesticides, hormones, or any drugs.

Bulk buying is most economical way to buy. A quarter hog is $9.99 per pound and is about 35 lbs of meat. You receive all this:
7 lbs of ham,
4 lbs bacon
1.5 lbs spare ribs
6 lbs loin (chops)
5 lbs of picnic hams
4 lbs of boston butt (roast)
2 lbs lard
2 lbs hocks and trotters

Why Pasture-Raised?

Pasture-raised animals roam freely in their natural environment where they’re able to eat nutritious grasses and other plants that their bodies are adapted to digest. In addition to dramatically improving the welfare of farm animals, pasturing also helps reduce environmental damage, and yields meat and eggs that are tastier and more nutritious than foods produced on factory farms. When you buy pastured meat, you’re not only taking a step to safeguard your health, protect the environment, and improve animal wellbeing, you’re also supporting sustainable farming and the farmers who choose to practice it. Small, local family farmers are invaluable members of the nation’s communities and play a key role as stewards of the land.

More Market Day Delights

We’ll also have our organic pastured eggs, and a vast array of our beautiful organic and specialty produce, varieties that are chosen for their distinctive flavors and are largely unknown since they are not found in grocery stores. Try our Flamingo spinach, Sungold, Yellow Pear and Everglades tomatoes, Green Magic and Romanesco broccoli, plus fennel, basil, garlic chives, and cilantro to add fresh herby flavors to your cooking. We’ll also have more potted plants for your kitchen garden at home.

Apple Banana potted plant

More than 95 percent of the bananas sold in the U.S. are Cavendish, the cultivar that dominates the market. Only a handful of the thousand or so other banana varieties out there are becoming available to consumers in this country. We have one of our favorites for you! For anyone accustomed to the mild taste and mushy texture of the Cavendish, you’ll love this dessert variety with delicious apple flavor when fully ripe. It’s excellent for container growing or in the ground and very simple to grow in our climate.
